Invisalign^®

Invisalign is a clear removable brace system that straightens your teeth using a series of virtually invisible clear plastic aligners. These clear aligners replace metal bands and wires meaning that no one will know you are wearing braces, unless you tell them!

At a consultation with your orthodontist a series of photographs and moulds of your teeth will be taken. These are sent to Invisalign^® to create a virtual 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck^®) detailing exactly how your teeth will move. This can be viewed online allowing you to visualise the end result.

Your custom made aligners are sent to your orthodontist who will instruct you to wear each aligner for two weeks before replacing it with the next. This continues until the end of your treatment with periodic visits to the orthodontist in order to check your treatment progress.

Your orthodontist can use Invisalign^® to treat a range of common orthodontic problems in adults and children such as crowded or widely spaced teeth. Even some more complex cases can be treated including overbites, overjets, underbites and even crossbites. Your orthodontist can use Invisalign^® for all or part of most treatment plans. A consultation will determine the best course of treatment for you.

Not only are Invisalign^® aligners clear, comfortable and effective they are removable too so you can brush, floss and eat as usual. Fortunately, because you can remove your aligners to eat and drink you can eat all your favourite foods. After each meal, you must make sure that you brush your teeth, prior to re-inserting your aligners to maintain good hygiene.

Invisalign^® Lite is a new version of the Invisalign^® range that costs less and typically gives faster treatment times than the full Invisalign^®. This is because it is intended to treat mild or less severe malocclusions (misalignment of teeth), usually using no more than 10 aligners. As well as being used for simple orthodontic cases, it can also be used as a precursor to cosmetic dentistry treatments such as bridges or crowns.

Invisalign^® Teen

Invisalign Teen^® aligners perfectly fit into a teenager’s life. They ensure there is no need to be self-conscious any longer when out socially, for school photos, and when posting pictures online. Even better, Invisalign Teen^® starts working with the first set of aligners. So as time goes by, you can watch the teeth gradually get straighter and healthier!

The clear plastic aligners snap on your teeth easily and are comfortable and practically invisible. They allow room for your growing permanent teeth whilst gently and continuously moving your teeth in small movements.

Each aligner is worn for about two weeks then you swap them for a new pair. The aligners all have a Blue Dot Wear Indicator; this is designed to show an estimation of wear-time. The dot will fade to clear over a two-week period if you wear your aligners properly – about 20 to 22 hours every day.

The aligner should be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing and can even be taken out when attending a special event. As we all know, most teenagers have enough to worry about with school and other social activities so if you do accidentally loose a retainer up to 6 replacements are offered for free.
