Lingual braces

If you are looking for a more traditional treatment, but want to keep it a secret, then it’s time to try lingual braces. Lingual braces are fitted to the back of your teeth - so they’re completely hidden from view when you smile.

How do lingual braces work?

Lingual braces work using the same system of brackets, archwires and elastics as metal braces. The difference with lingual braces is that we fix the brackets to the back side of your teeth instead of the front - hiding your treatment from view.

Lingual braces can be a wonderful treatment option for all ages so long as the permanent teeth have erupted. They can even treat complex orthodontic issues, but not everyone is a candidate for lingual braces, so it’s best to find out at your free consultation.

 How do lingual braces work?

Two types of lingual braces

At Trinity House Orthodontics, we offer two types of lingual braces: Incognito™ braces and STb™ Light lingual braces.

Incognito™ braces

Incognito™ lingual braces consist of custom-made brackets and wires and can address all kinds of orthodontic problems. Moreover, they’re easy to maintain.

The remarkably flat design of the gold alloy brackets makes them highly comfortable. They are also perfect for people with nickel allergies.

STb™ Light lingual system

STb's Light lingual system significantly reduces the friction and force needed to maneuver the teeth. It utilises the most advanced lingual technology, making it incredibly comfortable for the patient.

Benefits of lingual braces

  • Less risk of tooth damage: You don’t have to worry as much about decalcification if your braces are on the back of your teeth.
  • Fast treatment time and results: You can enjoy the same performance and efficiency as traditional fixed braces.
  • Virtually invisible: Because they’re tucked away safely behind your teeth, no one needs to know you’re having treatment.
