NHS orthodontic treatment
Orthodontic treatment is available under the NHS but certain criteria must be met. To begin with, patients must be 18-years-old or under and their orthodontic needs related to health reasons rather than cosmetic.
At Trinity House Orthodontics, we are one of the largest providers of NHS treatment in Yorkshire. We work closely with dentists and other health authorities in Wakefield to ensure short or no waiting lists. Every child under the age of 18 is entitled to an NHS consultation and we have the facilities to carry this out for those patients in our area.
If you believe your child could benefit from orthodontic treatment under the NHS, ask your dentist for a referral to Trinity House Orthodontics. We will then be able to determine whether your child meets the criteria.
NHS orthodontic treatment does have its restrictions. Fixed braces are the only orthodontic appliance available and there are designated appointment times. If your child doesn’t qualify for treatment under the NHS but could still benefit from orthodontic treatment, speak with us about your options. We have a range of braces suitable for children and teenagers and payment plans to make treatment affordable.
